Your Michigan Source for Alpacas

As mentioned on my Alpaca Facts page - Alpacas are "earth friendly animals". By that we mean they do very well on small acreages and require minimal shelter. If you would like to purchase Alpacas as an investment, you can feel secure entrusting Knapp's Island Alpacas with the care of your investment. If your farm is not ready, or you choose to not have your Alpacas on your property, you could not hire better Alpaca care for your precious Alpaca(s). You are welcome to visit your Alpacas anytime during our business hours. Take your Alpaca for a walk through the Island, or bring your friends to the farm. You can even take your Alpaca home to stay in your yard for the weekend if you choose. They can even be transported in the back of a sport utility vehicle. Boarding in Alpaca language is know as "agisting". At Knapp's Island Alpacas, breeders will care for your animals for a little as $3.50 per day. Agisting means providing shelter, grass, feed, and worming/vaccinations. Veterinary charges vary from blood drawing for registration to ultra sounding to confirm pregnancy. All aforementioned charges are tax deductible! Breeders will deliver the pregnant females and inform you of the various studs available for re-breeding. Some will transport your animals to Alpaca Shows along with their own Alpacas. If you wish to sell any of your stock, breeders will show them to customers for a percent of the sale price. This is a picture of our barn. It a beautiful brand new barn on 7 acres of property on the Grosse Ile Airport. The barn has 8 stalls including a birthing stall, office, tact room, utility room, and lab.
